Collaborative Law
Collaborative Family Solicitors
Some of our family lawyers are specially trained in the field of
Collaborative Law. This is a relatively new approach in
family law where the parties make a commitment to resolve their
family disputes without the need to go to Court. This speeds things
up, minimises the pain of a family breakdown, potentially reduces
the cost of the process and probably most importantly is more
likely to result in a better on going relationship between the
parties especially important where children are involved.
Collaborative lawyers work with you, your partner and your
partner's lawyer but instead of doing so by phone and letter it is
in a series of face to face meetings. Each of you has your
lawyer by your side throughout the entire process so you benefit
from legal advice as you go along but the effect is that you are
working with your lawyer rather than through them which creates a
greater sense of personal control over the outcome.
Another major benefit of this approach is that it works around your
family's individual timetable and priorities and not those imposed
by the Courts.
If you would like more information about this approach to
resolving your family difficulties please contact Louise
Richardson or Beverley McCluskey at our Knutsford
office, both Collaborative Law specialists.
